art.
art as meditation
For me, art transcends the body, the environment and time. It cannot be rationalized or subject to rules to be createdbecause it is pure amorphous and unlimited expression.
I remember when I was studying Multimedia Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of La Plata, a classmate of plastic artsHe told me that his teacher had told him that his work was wrong, giving him instructions on how to correct it. Imagine my face. Be creative.
How can someone tell that your expression is right or wrong? Who can have the moral authority to say so? Yesart transcendsthe duality of the material world.
art is oneuniversal manifestationIt expresses what words cannot express. is hethe expression of the soul or consciousness What are we and what else are we? Artists.
creativity isinherent in beingand if you eliminate the mind and the ego (that is, the prejudices that if you know or do not know how to do it, if you are or are not capable) you can achieve meditative states of complete connection with your real self and with the whole.
creating conscious and unconscious creative content
And you'll think I'm crazy that I quote a neuroscientist to talk about art, but yes, I'll do it. Joe Dispensa in his book "Stop being you" talks about creative state of being, a state that I claim can be achieved through artistic expression. A state that can be reached when you are so completely absorbed in creating something that you lose track of time, space, even yourself. He says:
“The creative state is to live like nobody else. Have you noticed that when you are creating something you forget about yourself? you disconnectof your known world. You are no longer someone who associates your identity with the things you own, the people you know, the tasks you perform, and the different places you lived at certain times. You could say that when you're in a creative state you forget the habit of being you.You stripof your selfish ego and you become altruistic. In those moments you have gone beyond time and space and have become pure and immaterial consciousness. Once you are no longer connected to the body, you no longer focus on people, places, or things in your outer environment. You live beyond linear time, you are crossing the gate of the quantum field”
In nothingness itself, all possibilities exist just like on a white canvas waiting to be painted across you.
You see that you do not need to go to the Himalayas to meditate and find yourself. You need to find what allows you to abstract yourself from everything created, to recreate, to express everything you have inside, allow your body to speak for you, unlock and release all those stored emotions so that the energy flows harmoniously throughout your body. .
This is where I think art and yoga can be unified. But here I leave it.
You already have work to do:
buy a canvas, some acrylics and create.
Then share your creation please!
